Instructions | Customer may require migrating virtual machines from their existing ESXi node to their VxRail appliance. They want to know how to accomplish the migration and if the VxRail appliance will be supported after the migration.
To clarify, VM migration is special business requirement from customer, which is not included in our after-sales product warranty contract. Therefore, the migration is not free if customer hopes EMC totally support the procedure. |
Notes | Customer will have below 2 options:
Option 1
Purchase EMC Professional Services to perform the migration.
In that case, EMC will perform and support the VM migration and take full responsibility. Customer will not need to know the technical details regarding the migration. VxRail appliance will be supported by EMC after the migration.
Option 2
Customer choose to perform the migration by themselves.
EMC cannot guarantee data integrity and EMC does not support any issue occur during the migration process. After migration is successfully completed, the foreign ESXi node must be removed from VxRail cluster. Otherwise, the VxRail appliance will no longer be supported by EMC. |
