Instructions | VxRail nodes purchased at versions 4.0 or 4.5 include vSAN license, while VxRail nodes purchased at version 4.7 level don't. When performing vCenter migration (either manually or using a PowerShell script), the vSAN license will not be migrated, and needs to be manually applied on the new vCenter. If the VxRail cluster is built at version 4.0 or 4.5, and the current VxRail version supports cross-vCenter migration, contact Dell EMC support to migrate vSAN to the new vCenter. The following information will be needed: - The version on which VxRail cluster was first built (4.0 or 4.5).
- The vSAN license key on the original vCenter that was assigned to the VxRail cluster
|
Notes | The vSAN license comes with VxRail nodes at 4.0.x or 4.5.x version can only be used for VxRail nodes, although the vSAN license capacity is unlimited. The "VxRail Cluster Migration Automation Package" is available for download from support site. |
