InstructionsIn cases where the LCM upgrade to VxRail 7.0.000 fails at the step of upgrading vCenter, and it is necessary to rollback instead of retry, it cannot be done by simply powering off the new vCenter and powering on the old one, as log in fails with "503 Service Unavailable" error similar to the below or you may not be able to connect at all:

How to roll back to the old vCenter version:
  1. Power off the newly deployed vCenter Virtual Machine (VM).

  2. Find the ESXi host on which the old vCenter and PSC VMs were running on.

  3. Revert vCenter and PSC to the last snapshot, and power them on.

  4. Ping the IP address of the vCenter. If it times out, log in to vCenter using SSH as root, and run command:

Notes

A snapshot is taken for VC/PSC before actually upgrading VC/PSC. The snapshot is taken without memory, so special steps are needed to fully restore the services.
